In the 1970s, an immigrant mother insisted that her children buy a 96-acre farm for an investment just as they started their careers.  Though they didn’t think that purchasing a farm far from where they called home was the wisest use of their money, they did as she had instructed.  Thirty-five years later, when they cashed the check from Pulte Homes to fund their retirement, they had a new appreciation for just how wise their mother really was.
